On December 23, 2025, in Ulaanbaatar, the transfer of engineering equipment intended for military construction took place from the U.S. Military Group at the Embassy (USMILGP) of Mongolia. The transferred equipment included two trucks, trailers, and devices for detecting explosive devices.
High-ranking representatives were present at the event, including Major Andrew Adams, who is the head of the U.S. Office of Peacekeeping and Military Cooperation, and Ian Crawford, Deputy Chief of the Political Section. The Mongolian side was represented by Colonel Myagmarsuren Dorj, head of the Department of Peacekeeping and Military Cooperation, and Lieutenant Colonel Ganbayar Yadam, senior staff officer of the engineering department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Mongolia.
This transfer is carried out within the framework of the defense cooperation agreement between the United States and Mongolia and is part of a series of activities aimed at developing the peacekeeping capabilities of the Armed Forces of Mongolia.
The U.S. Military Group in Mongolia (USMILGP) actively promotes defense cooperation, strengthening the peacekeeping capabilities and defense potential of the country. As part of its activities, the group provides equipment such as engineering gear and explosive detection devices, organizes joint exercises like Khaan Quest, and supports military education (IMET), which fosters strong relationships between the military departments of both countries and achieves common goals of ensuring security and strengthening democracy in the region.
USMILGP also serves as a link to enhance Mongolia's security, aligning with U.S. strategic interests in regional stability and support for democratic values.
