On January 8, a woman named E.B. approached the Lenin District Internal Affairs Department, reporting an incident on route taxi No. 161. Her wallet containing 595,000 soms, 400 US dollars, and jewelry valued at 100,000 soms was stolen from her bag.
The Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under Article 205 "Theft" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational measures conducted by the criminal investigation department, two suspects — Sh.M. and Zh.A., both born in 1985 — were detained. Both men have previous convictions for serious crimes. The detainees were taken to the Lenin District Internal Affairs Department and placed in a temporary detention facility. The court decided to keep them in custody at Detention Center No. 1.
During a search of the Daewoo Nexia vehicle used by the suspects, the stolen jewelry was found.
According to the investigation, on the morning of January 8, the men boarded route taxi No. 161 heading to the "Dordoy" market. Experienced pickpockets noticed that a female passenger was likely working at the market and discreetly stole money and valuables from her. After that, they left in a taxi, paying with one thousand soms from the stolen money.
