According to the State Penitentiary Service, on February 7, 2026, at 12:30 PM, Abdyrov was discovered hanging in cell No. 21 of the detention center. He used his pants, which he secured to the inner grille of the cell door. Despite attempts at first aid, he died on the spot.
Investigation and operational groups from the State Penitentiary Service and representatives of the prosecutor's office, who oversee compliance with the law in institutions, arrived at the scene. The incident has been registered, forensic examinations have been appointed, and a preliminary investigation has been initiated.
The State Penitentiary Service reported that Abdyrov was transferred to pre-trial detention center No. 1 on December 17, 2025, from the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs.
Earlier, sources in law enforcement confirmed to Kaktus.media that the preliminary version of the incident is suicide.
The Case of Aysulu M.'s Murder and Other Crimes
Aysulu M. went missing on September 27, 2025, in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region. On that day, she was heading to a friend's house from the village of Barskoon to the village of Jenish, but did not return home. Later, surveillance cameras recorded the girl getting into a Honda Stream car, driven by a man born in 1984.According to the investigation, the suspect took the girl to an apple orchard, where he committed violent acts and then killed her. The body was later found in the Boom Gorge.
Abdyrov was arrested on charges under paragraphs 3, 5, 7, and 14 of part 2 of Article 122 "Murder" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The court repeatedly extended the preventive measure in the form of detention, the last time until March 29, 2026.
It later became known that he also confessed to a number of other crimes. The investigation established that Abdyrov may have been involved in at least six attacks on women, four of which ended in murder, among the victims was 19-year-old Kamila Duyshbayeva. Law enforcement agencies do not rule out that the number of victims may be higher.
