Three citizens detained for signing a petition for early presidential elections

All 75 signatories were taken to the police



As a result of the detention of three citizens who signed the petition for early elections, information was received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They appealed to President Sadyr Japarov and Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu.


“Some points from the petition caused significant public resonance and heightened tension in the socio-political situation. In this regard, a criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of Article 278 'Mass Riots' of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.


On the morning of February 11, 75 signatories were taken to the investigative service. During the proceedings, it was established that the initiators of the petition were T. B., born in 1955, U. E., born in 1955, and D. K., born in 1960. Searches were conducted in the homes of these citizens, and they themselves were detained and placed in a temporary detention facility,” law enforcement agencies reported.


It should be clarified that the initials correspond to Bekbolot Talgarbekov, Emil Uzakbaev, and Kurmanbek Dyikanbaev, who also signed the petition.
