Three people who signed the appeal for early presidential elections have been detained on suspicion of organizing mass riots, according to information from the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

Law enforcement agencies believe that some points of the appeal regarding the elections caused significant public resonance and "aggravated the socio-political situation in the country," which led to the initiation of a criminal case under part 1 of Article 278 "Mass Riots" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

On the morning of February 11, 75 people who signed the appeal to the president were brought to the investigative bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the investigation, three main initiators were identified: T. B. (born in 1955), U. E. (born in 1955), and D. K. (born in 1960). Searches were conducted at their homes, and the suspects were detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
