The senior assistant prosecutor of the October District Prosecutor's Office in Bishkek, Kunduz Akunova, emphasized that the prevention of crimes against minors is one of the key tasks for ensuring public safety.

According to her, the protection of children's rights, their health, and moral development should be priorities for any state and society. Akunova highlighted the importance of explanatory work aimed at preventing crimes against adolescents, as well as the need to increase responsibility on the part of society.

Family, in Akunova's opinion, is the first and foremost environment where children's safety is ensured. Parents should actively engage with their children, take an interest in their lives, and know who they are communicating with.

“It is important to teach children how to identify dangerous situations, to be cautious when interacting with strangers, and to inform them about the risks on the internet,” she added.

Furthermore, Akunova noted that the prosecutor's office, as well as social development, health, education, internal affairs, and local self-government institutions, are working together to protect adolescents from crime.

“In particular, the prosecutor's office monitors compliance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and coordinates actions to protect children's rights; the Ministry of Internal Affairs is actively working on the prevention of offenses against minors and identifying dangerous situations; the Ministry of Health plays an important role in safeguarding the physical and psychological health of children, as well as in the early detection of cases of violence; the Ministry of Education and Science creates a safe educational environment and conducts legal education; the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration supports families in need by implementing programs for at-risk children,” she reported.

Akunova emphasized that joint efforts and constant monitoring are necessary for achieving success. Effective prevention of crimes against adolescents requires information exchange between agencies, joint raids, preventive measures, and active cooperation with society.

“Only if every member of society understands that the safety of children is our common responsibility can we achieve significant results in this area,” she concluded.
