Employees of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan have detained lawyer A.K.A., who previously served as a military judge. He is suspected of systematic extortion of funds, according to sources in the special services.

The investigation revealed that, using his connections and official position, the detainee organized a scheme to extort money from citizens for assistance in obtaining favorable court decisions in civil cases.

At the first stage, he received $25,000 from one of the victims, but later continued to demand another $7,000, threatening that otherwise he would use his contacts to change the court decision in favor of the opponents.

During the operational activities, the lawyer was caught in the act while receiving part of the sum — 437,500 soms (approximately $5,000).

According to the court's decision, the detainee has been placed in the SCNS detention center for two months. The investigation is currently ongoing, aimed at identifying other possible accomplices in the corruption scheme.
