The court denied journalist Bayan Jumagulova's request to travel abroad for treatment
In Bishkek, the Sverdlovsk District Court rejected Bayan Jumagulova's request, a veteran journalist, for permission to travel to Germany for medical treatment. She shared this in an interview with "Azattyk".

Bayan Jumagulova, who has a II group disability, reported that she underwent a kidney transplant several years ago. She lived in Germany, where she received medical treatment, and was scheduled to have a planned surgery in February 2026. Despite having medical documents, Judge Almaz Jumagulov denied her petition.

During the announcement of the court's decision, Bayan lost consciousness and was urgently taken to the National Hospital with the help of relatives. There, she received first aid and subsequently returned home.
According to information provided by the journalist, the court, in a brief comment, emphasized that the case falls under the category of less serious crimes, which also influenced the judge's decision.

In 2024, a criminal case was initiated against Bayan Jumagulova under an article concerning incitement of interethnic hatred. As a result of the court's decision, she is required to remain in her place of residence and not leave it according to the preventive measures.

The judicial proceedings regarding the journalist's case have been ongoing in the district court for over a year and a half for various reasons.

At the time of the events, Bayan Jumagulova is 67 years old, she retired after working at "Azattyk" and has a II group disability.
