
Boris Podkorytov.
Boris Petrovich Podkorytov was born on May 3, 1948, in Frunze. His journey in football began under the guidance of the famous youth coach Vladimir Korobchenko. In 1966, after the final of the All-Union youth tournament, he received an invitation to the experimental USSR national team preparing for the Olympic Games in Mexico City, where his teammates included such stars as Yevgeny Lovchev and Sergey Olshansky.
As a player, Podkorytov represented Moscow's "Lokomotiv" and the legendary "Alga," where he served as captain.
After ending his playing career, Boris Podkorytov dedicated himself to coaching. After completing coaching courses in Moscow, he became the head coach of Frunze's "Alga" in 1980. He later worked in foreign clubs, including Algeria, where he led the team to championship victory in 1988.
Throughout his career, he also coached Kazakh clubs "Kainar," "Astana," and "Zhetysu," and was part of the coaching staff of the Kazakhstan national team. Upon returning to his homeland, he worked with the club "Dordoi-Dynamo," achieving significant success, including multiple titles as champions of Kyrgyzstan and victories in the AFC President's Cup in 2006 and 2007.
In 2006, Boris Podkorytov held the position of head coach of the national team of Kyrgyzstan. From 2006 to 2007, he again led "Dordoi-Dynamo," and from 2008, he became the general director of the club. In 2011, he served as a consultant coach for the national team.
Throughout his career, Boris Podkorytov was repeatedly honored with the title of Coach of the Year and became one of the most respected and decorated mentors in the history of Kyrgyz football.
