- The main directions for the development of Kyrgyzstan's economy should be energy, manufacturing, and new technologies. This was stated on November 25 by former Foreign Minister and former Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Russia Alikbek Jekshenkulov on the radio.

Jekshenkulov noted that the country's energy infrastructure needs updating:

“The power is periodically turned off and then turned back on. Without comprehensive solutions, this problem cannot be solved,” he emphasized.

He highlighted the need to develop nuclear, hydro, solar, and wind energy, adding that the construction of a nuclear power plant will help reduce dependence on external resources, especially in the face of possible water shortages.

In addition, the former minister stressed that Kyrgyzstan should actively develop its own manufacturing:

“China used to be the factory of the world, and now it has become a technological leader. We also need to focus on developing manufacturing.”

Jekshenkulov also pointed out the importance of transitioning to an innovative economy:

“Training young people in artificial intelligence and new technologies will be an important step forward for our country,” the former minister concluded.
