A resident of the Issyk-Kul region has become a double suspect in poaching.

According to information from the regional police press service, as part of measures to combat poaching, officers of the tourism and environmental police arrested a young man named A.N., born in 2002, for illegal fishing.

The incident occurred on the night of October 23 to 24 in the bay near the village of Kyzyl-Tuu, where the villager was caught with a pitchfork, which is a violation of environmental legislation.

The police noted that a week earlier he had already been held accountable for a similar offense and was under house arrest after a criminal case was initiated.

In connection with the latest incident, a criminal case has been reopened under Article 310 ("Illegal hunting or fishing of fish and aquatic animals") of the Criminal Code.

The court has imposed a measure of restraint in the form of detention for one month. An investigation is underway.

Earlier, on September 6, police reported the discovery of illegal fishing in the village of Kyzyl-Tuu, where two local residents — B.B. and A.N. — were detained. They used a three-meter floating net, resulting in the seizure of 4 trout.

According to experts, such actions caused damage to the state amounting to 16,160 soms. The detainees were placed in the temporary detention facility of the Ton district police.
