Participants in the round table included representatives from the Research Institute of Strategic Planning from St. Petersburg, as well as employees from the Department of Individual Housing Construction and Urban Development of the Bishkek City Hall, the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture, the Union of Architects of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Institute of Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Association of Transport Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic, and designers.
As part of the forum, a foresight session titled "Draft Project of the General Plan of Bishkek - 2050" was held, which included forecasting the sustainable development of the capital of Kyrgyzstan until 2050 and presenting various sections of urban planning documentation:
- The baseline (current situation) of the General Plan, analysis, and monitoring of the city's current problems;
- The project proposal for the General Plan of Bishkek, including architectural and urban planning ideas and proposals for territorial and spatial development until 2050.
During the discussions, key issues were raised concerning historical and cultural, social, ecological, economic, and transport aspects, as well as engineering and utility networks, housing situations, provision of spaces for work and recreation, sports activities, tourism, and the organization of the urban environment. Leading scientists, architects, engineers from design and survey organizations, and specialists from the Research Institute of Strategic Urban Planning participated in the discussion.
As a result of the discussions, proposals were formulated for the further development of the General Plan of Bishkek, with an emphasis on ensuring a sustainable forecast for the future of the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
