The presentation of a financial literacy resource aimed at labor migrants and their families took place in Bishkek. This was reported by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.

According to information from the National Bank, the authors of the manual aimed to address the pressing question: "Why do the funds earned abroad often fail to benefit the families of migrants in the future?"

The project was implemented with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the National Bank and the Ministry of Labor. According to the IOM, remittances play a key role in the lives of 41% of migrant families from Kyrgyzstan. However, the workers themselves abroad increasingly face the problem that their earned money is quickly spent, leaving no savings or investments," the message notes.
According to Azat Kozubekov, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, the manual was developed with a focus on practical use—it is not just a theoretical textbook, but a useful tool that can be applied at all stages: before departure, during work abroad, and after returning home.
“This financial literacy module was created with the specifics and needs of migrants and their families in mind. We hope that it will become part of pre-departure training programs and will be successfully used in migrant support centers, as well as in online formats,” he added.

The training module is designed for approximately six hours and consists of four blocks. It covers topics such as setting financial goals, budgeting, safe remittances, savings, deposits, basics of investing, insurance, and fraud protection.
