In seven distribution electrical networks of the region, outdated wooden structures, whose service life has expired, will be updated.
In 2026, the Issyk-Kul region expects the replacement of more than two thousand outdated wooden power poles with modern reinforced concrete ones. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
The specified poles were installed in the 1960s and 70s and have long exceeded the allowable service life, being in an emergency state.
The replacement work will affect the following distribution electrical networks (RES):
- Ak-Suu — 258 poles
- Karakoil — 260 poles
- Jeti-Oguz — 263 poles
- Ton — 543 poles
- Cholpon-Ata — 314 poles
- Tup — 229 poles
- Balakchy — 282 poles
All work on the installation of new reinforced concrete poles is planned to be completed by the end of November 2026.
It is worth noting that in 2025, more than 1500 reinforced concrete poles were already installed in the region.
"The production of new poles is carried out in a specialized workshop that has been operating at the Balakchy RES since 2017. Here, poles of the SV-110 and SV-95 brands are manufactured, meeting modern quality and reliability standards," the report added.
