A large-scale modernization of the water supply system has started in Karakol

In Karakol, the administrative center of the Issyk-Kul region, work has begun on the modernization of water supply and sewage systems. The project is being implemented by the Department for the Development of Drinking Water Supply and Sewage, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

Currently, construction and installation work is actively underway at facilities that are crucial for providing the city's residents with clean drinking water. Contractors are fully replacing outdated main water supply networks, as well as modernizing pumping stations and water storage facilities.

This project is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). According to the plan, the completion of all work and the commissioning of the updated water supply system are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.

The department is closely monitoring each stage of implementation and strictly controlling the targeted use of allocated funds. The ministry is confident that the successful implementation of this project will not only improve water quality but also ensure the reliable functioning of Karakol's engineering systems for many years to come.
