Deputies demanded to consider ecology and heritage preservation in the General Plan of Bishkek

During an extraordinary meeting of the Committee on Industrial Policy, Transport, Fuel and Energy Complex, Architecture, and Construction held on December 26, the draft General Plan for Bishkek, designed until 2050, was discussed.

Azmat Kadyrov, the deputy mayor of the capital, presented the key aspects of the new General Plan.

Irina Grishechkina, one of the project developers, provided details on the city's development prospects, emphasizing that the plan takes into account both the territorial and social characteristics of Bishkek, as well as population growth forecasts, the current state of social, engineering, and transport infrastructure, and ecological and cultural factors.

Deputy Dastan Bekeshev asked about the presence of a dedicated lane for individual mobility in the project and inquired about measures aimed at improving the ecological situation in Bishkek and creating comfortable conditions for residents.

Gulya Kozhokulova, also a deputy, highlighted the importance of adhering to legislative norms when constructing multi-story residential complexes in the city center, emphasizing the significance of protecting historical and cultural heritage sites.

According to her, the urban housing stock should develop in accordance with urban planning policies and compliance with all necessary standards.

Deputy Rakhmat Junushbaeva emphasized the need for the development of railway infrastructure to form and support industrial zones and centers.
