As reported by the press service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Issyk-Kul Region, the Tyup District Internal Affairs Department received operational information about citizens allegedly involved in the illegal storage and use of drugs in the area. This fact was registered in the Unified Register of Crimes of the Tyup District Internal Affairs Department. Following the investigation, a criminal case was initiated based on Article 283 ("Illegal production of narcotic substances, psychotropic substances, and their analogs without the purpose of sale") of the Criminal Code.
On March 14, 2026, police officers, as part of the criminal case, conducted authorized searches at the residences of the suspects.
During a personal search of citizen J.A., born in 1973, a substance with a specific odor, resembling wild-growing hemp, was found in the pocket of his jacket. During a further search of his residence, operatives discovered several plastic bags with similar contents. The total weight of the seized substance was 1 kilogram 531 grams. All materials have been attached to the case as physical evidence.
The second search took place in the residential house and outbuilding (sheepfold) of citizen B.B., born in 1972. During the inspection of the premises, a plastic bag containing cut wild-growing hemp was found. In addition to narcotic substances, police officers identified a whole range of prohibited items and equipment:
- harvested hemp leaves;
- 13 synthetic fishing nets of Chinese manufacture;
- 2 inflatable boats;
- 19 ammunition for firearms;
- Gunpowder and primers.
The total weight of the narcotic substances amounted to over 3 kilograms.
All discovered substances and items have been seized and sent for forensic chemical examination to determine their exact composition and origin. Currently, investigative activities are ongoing.
