Ministers of Health of Kyrgyzstan and Russia Discussed Quotas for Treatment, Training of Personnel, and Projects in the Field of High-Tech Medicine
Representatives of the Kyrgyz side noted the importance of support from the Russian side in organizing the negotiations. The Ministry of Health emphasizes that cooperation between the two countries is based on many years of trustful relations and has a strategic nature.
The discussion at the meeting covered key aspects related to the medical interests of citizens of both countries.
An important point was the discussion of continuing the practice of allocating quotas for the treatment of Kyrgyz citizens in Russian medical institutions, including access to high-tech medical care, which demonstrates the openness of the Russian side on health issues.
Also discussed were the directions for developing human resources and strengthening professional ties. The parties analyzed the possibilities of expanding educational programs for young specialists from Kyrgyzstan, such as graduates of medical universities, including training in residency in Russia in in-demand specialties: neurosurgery, oncology, cardiac surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, neonatology, pediatrics, genetics, and laboratory diagnostics.
Internships and advanced training programs for doctors from Kyrgyzstan at leading medical and scientific institutions in Russia were also considered. The Kyrgyz side stated that the relevant departments of the ministry are working on proposals for internship directions in accordance with the received instructions.
In the field of high technologies in medicine, the Kyrgyz side expressed interest in joint projects, particularly in the creation of a nuclear medicine center in Kyrgyzstan, which will have its own production of radiopharmaceuticals. It was mentioned that some elements of the project are already being implemented at the National Center for Oncology and Hematology with the participation of JSC "Rosatom".
This project is included in the state development plans of the country, and a phased preparation of the regulatory framework is planned, along with the conclusion of agreements and the start of design work in 2026, with a target completion by 2030. The parties also discussed possible formats for cooperation, including technological and expert support, as well as issues of access to methodologies and equipment, taking into account mutual interests.
In addition, issues of exchanging professional experience between medical professionals from both countries were discussed, including joint surgical and high-tech interventions, as well as deepening scientific and expert cooperation.
The Kyrgyz side expressed interest in studying and implementing the best practices of the Russian Federation in the field of healthcare, taking into account national specifics, including the reform of the system and the management of medical institutions to enhance the effectiveness of medical care.
