A meeting with a UNICEF representative took place at the Ministry of Health

On February 13, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Health between Deputy Minister for Digital Development Temirbek Erkinov and Samman Jung Tapa, the UNICEF representative in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The press service of the Ministry of Health reported that the meeting discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the field of health care. In particular, emphasis was placed on ensuring sustainable vaccine supplies, optimizing procurement and distribution mechanisms, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of the immunization program. UNICEF representatives provided information on significant assistance in strengthening the cold chain system, achieving 80% coverage with specialized equipment, as well as on the supply of refrigerators and pickup trucks for the safe delivery of vaccines to medical facilities in the country.

Key topics of discussion included the quality and safety of vaccines supplied through UNICEF, as well as the digitalization of vaccine procurement and logistics management. Meeting participants emphasized the importance of implementing modern information technologies to improve planning, accounting, and control of medical resources. Additionally, UNICEF informed Erkinov about plans to construct a National Vaccine Warehouse with a budget of $1,267,000.

Issues of coordinating joint actions within the framework of programs and projects aimed at strengthening the immunization system, enhancing health resilience, and expanding access to preventive services for the population were also discussed.

During the meeting, mutual interest in further developing the partnership was confirmed, including the preparation of a Joint Action Plan for 2026-2027, as well as expanding technical and expert support and sharing experiences in vaccine procurement management.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue, strengthen cooperation, and jointly implement initiatives aimed at improving the health care system and the sustainable development of the immunization program in the Kyrgyz Republic.
