Sergey, convicted for several episodes of theft, broke the window of a Land Rover belonging to Amir in the summer of 2024. He attempted to enter the vehicle to steal money, but finding none, he switched to the next car—a Toyota Spasio. However, he was detained by Amir and caught at the scene of the crime. The total damage from his actions amounted to 26,700 soms.
The investigation established that Sergey also broke the window of a silver Honda Fit belonging to Zhyldyz, causing her a loss of 10,000 soms. Additionally, he damaged the rear window of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter owned by Turat, resulting in a loss of 10,000 soms, as well as the window of a Lexus NX300 belonging to Mira, which cost her 21,000 soms. From David's minibus, he stole 40,000 soms, and from Kanat's Toyota Ipsum, he took 35,000 soms. In a Honda Stepwgn, he stole a jack, causing the victim Ulan a loss of 7,000 soms, including 3,500 soms for the jack. In total, the overall damage amounted to 44,000 soms.
It is worth noting that Sergey had previous convictions.
- The Oktyabrsky District Court found the man guilty and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment in a strict regime correctional colony, with the restitution of the damages caused.
- The judicial panel on criminal cases and offenses of the Bishkek City Court upheld the verdict without changes.
The prosecutor also emphasized that the courts, when determining the final sentence, did not consider that Sergey had previously been repeatedly brought to criminal responsibility and violated the preventive measure, assigning him the minimum punishment.
As a result, the Supreme Court decided to partially amend the sentences of the Oktyabrsky District Court and the judicial panel on criminal cases and offenses of the Bishkek City Court. Consequently, the final sentence for Sergey was three years of imprisonment in a strict regime correctional colony.
