Azamat Maripov, convicted under the articles for "Mass Riots" and "Public Calls for Violent Seizure of Power," has been released with a three-year probation period. This information was confirmed by the press service of the Supreme Court.

In October 2022, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek found him guilty and sentenced him to six years in prison.

Azamat, known as an active Facebook user, was detained a year ago after repeatedly criticizing the presidential chief of staff Kanaybek Tumanbaev. The latter claimed that Maripov had asked him for $13,000 for a wedding and then allegedly participated in extortion.

Additionally, in April 2024, Azamat was already detained in another case. The Lenin District Police Department reported the detention of six men suspected of beating and illegally holding a resident of the capital.

It should be noted that Azamat Maripov is the brother of Kudret Taychabarov, the former head of the Tourism Development Fund, who is currently under arrest on suspicion of connections with organized crime groups.
