
In Bishkek, a suspect in the assault on a police officer has been detained.
According to information provided by the Internal Affairs Department of the Lenin District, the incident occurred on March 11, 2026, at around 21:30. A report was received at the duty station about a conflict between neighbors in one of the apartment buildings on Jumabek Street, after which a police inspector was dispatched to the scene.
During the investigation, while the inspector was at the scene, an unknown man exited the elevator and suddenly struck him in the face. The blow shattered the officer's glasses, and the shards injured his eye.
As a result of the blow, the police officer sustained a laceration to the lower eyelid of his right eye and was taken to the neurotrauma department.
The investigative service has initiated a criminal case under Article 280 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and relevant examinations have been ordered.
During operational-search activities, law enforcement officers were able to identify the assailant. He turned out to be an 18-year-old citizen, K.N., who has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
