The oil depot "Kyrgyzmunayzat" in the Chui region has been returned to state ownership, according to information from the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to the investigation, in 2004, the land plot of the oil depot, occupying 7.7 hectares and including buildings and structures (storage tanks for petroleum products with a capacity of 36,200 tons), was illegally transferred to private hands. This occurred as a result of a conspiracy among officials of state bodies, who assessed its value below market price and did not conduct the necessary bidding procedures.
As a result of investigative and operational activities, the owners of the oil refinery were held accountable, which allowed the facility to be returned to state ownership.
