Public hearings on the General Plan project for Bishkek until 2050 have started at the "Tunguch" theater in Bishkek. This information was presented by the city administration.
Under the leadership of Mayor Aibek Junushaliev, the event gathered participants, including developers from the Research Institute managed by Irina Grishchenkina.
Residents from the Lenin and Pervomaisky districts familiarized themselves with the key aspects of the project. Representatives of the IV People's Kurultai and deputies of the Bishkek City Council also participated in the discussion.
Aibek Junushaliev noted that international experience was taken into account when compiling the General Plan. He reminded that the conceptual plan for the next 30 years was developed by the Japanese company Nikken Sekkei.
"Next, the St. Petersburg Planning Institute, which has significant international experience, joined the work: this institute has prepared over 700 general plans, of which 95% were approved. Their independent position is extremely important for us, as specialists show the actual state of the city within the existing norms," the mayor added.
To enhance transparency and involve the population, a specialized website genplan.bishkek.gov.kg was launched, where project materials are posted and surveys among residents are conducted.
On October 25, 2025, the Bishkek General Plan project was published on the official portal of the city administration for public discussion.
Currently, the municipality has received 370 proposals and comments from residents. Also, starting from October 27, 2025, residents can familiarize themselves with the project in paper format – consultations have already been held for 91 people.
"Our task is to create a modern, well-equipped, and environmentally friendly city for everyone who lives in and visits the capital," the mayor emphasized.
The meeting continued in a "question-answer" format, allowing residents to receive clarifications from representatives of city services and developers.
