December is a time when many anticipate holidays and changes, but it is also a period for summarizing the year. In the lead-up to the New Year, people analyze their achievements and reflect on the future. The platform headhunter.kg conducted a survey among over a hundred job seekers to find out how they perceive the end of the current year and how their workload changes during the holiday season.

Respondents could choose multiple answers.

What are your feelings about the end of this year? Conclusion: The majority of respondents (45%) are finishing this year with ambiguous emotions, without a clear positive or negative sentiment. 30% feel stability, while 26% report a sense of fatigue. Only 14% feel inspired, indicating a restrained mood at the end of the year.

How has your workload changed in December? Conclusion: The majority of respondents noted that their workload either remained at the same level (20%) or increased moderately (23%). At the same time, 17% experienced a significant increase in deadlines. Almost a third of those surveyed (29%) were not working at the time of the survey, which also reflects the overall perception of the year's end.

Do you summarize your personal professional activities? Conclusion: 40% of job seekers consciously summarize their work. However, almost a third (31%) either see no need for it or do not find the time. This indicates that a culture of reflection and planning exists, but is not universal.

Are you considering changing jobs at the end of the year? Conclusion: Almost 40% of job seekers are ending the year actively looking for new work. Another 39% are considering a change but are postponing their plans. Only 9% are completely satisfied with their job, highlighting a high level of professional uncertainty at the year’s end.

What are your expectations for the New Year? Conclusion: The main request from job seekers for the next year is growth in income and career (56%). Almost one in five is focused on stability, while 18% are looking forward to new projects. The demand for balance and changing direction is also noticeable, indicating a reevaluation of priorities after a stressful year.

Overall Conclusion

The survey conducted on the headhunter.kg platform showed that the end of the year for most job seekers is not a finale, but a transitional stage. People are finishing the year with various emotions, a sense of fatigue, and reflections on the future. Almost 45% are looking for new jobs, and more than half associate their expectations with growth in income and career opportunities. The end of the year becomes a time for honest dialogue with oneself about the current situation and future direction.
