According to the agency's reports, 17 people fell victim to the poisoning, including 4 children. Thirteen of them were hospitalized and are currently receiving inpatient treatment, while the others are under outpatient care.
According to preliminary data, the first symptoms of poisoning began to manifest in the victims on January 15. All of them sought medical assistance at the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, where they received necessary care and clinical samples were collected for further laboratory research.
According to the epidemiological history, all the victims consumed shawarma, which became a key aspect of the investigation.
Specialists from the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Center of the capital conducted an unscheduled inspection of the catering establishment, during which samples of ingredients, swabs from kitchen utensils, and samples of finished products were taken for laboratory analysis. The staff was also examined for the presence of intestinal infection pathogens.
As a result of the inspection, three protocols for violations were drawn up, and decisions were issued totaling 41,000 soms under articles 80, 214 part 1, and 214 part 5 of the Code of Offenses.
The fast food establishment was closed on January 15, and the pavilion was sealed at the direction of the sanitary authorities.
The investigation is ongoing. Results of laboratory tests will be reported additionally.
It should be noted that last year, in the summer of 2025, a similar incident occurred at the fast food outlet "Daamduu" at the intersection of Baytik Baatyr and Suerkulov streets, resulting in over 20 people being affected after consuming shawarma. At that time, the source of the poisoning was identified as minced meat.
