Two minor orphans from Naryn, with the support of the Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic, were able to obtain their mother's inheritance. The institute reported that the teenagers were able to obtain a certificate of inheritance rights and register a land plot of 58 acres.
The appeal to the authorized representative of the Ombudsman in the Naryn region was made by pensioner K.G. She explained that after the death of her son and former daughter-in-law, custody of her grandchildren, aged 14 and 15, was assigned to her by a court decision. Later, she learned about the existence of a land plot registered in the name of their mother and decided to register it for her grandchildren as first-order heirs.
However, the relatives of the deceased began to contest the rights to the plot and refused to provide the necessary documents. The institute staff explained to the grandmother how to properly file a lawsuit and assisted her in gathering the required documents. Subsequently, at the direction of the Ombudsman, the Legal Aid Service provided the woman with a free state lawyer. A request to the regional branch of the State Agency for Land Resources confirmed the existence of the plot.
After filing the lawsuit, the opposing party agreed to a settlement.
