Immortality and Agreement

The Burden of Immortality

In ancient times, there lived a folk healer in our lands. With his herbal infusions and potions made from herbs and snake venom, he healed many sick people. The unusual talent and innate kindness that distinguished the healer earned him the love and respect of the entire community.

One day, in his old age, while gathering mountain herbs for his medicines, he heard the voices of his ancestors. "You have done much good for people and deserve a reward for it," the spirits said, "we want to extend your life."
- "Can you extend the lives of the people around me - my relatives, friends, peers?"
- "No, we can do this only for you. We will extend only your life."
- "Then I must refuse your gift. Otherwise, I will be left alone and witness the gradual death of all my dear and beloved ones. For me, this is the worst punishment; I cannot agree to that."

The Yurt of Agreement

On a cold winter night, three travelers - Health, Love, and Wealth - got lost. They walked for a long time until they saw two lights in the distance.
As they approached, the travelers saw that the fire was burning in two yurts. The first one was large and beautiful, with rich decorations and a lovely pattern on the felt.

The second yurt was smaller but neat and clean. The guests decided to peek into the first yurt. Upon seeing who had come to visit, the hosts became flustered. The sick old woman, the mother of the host, immediately grabbed the sleeve of Health. The spoiled daughter began to flirt with Love, while the greedy hostess started to fawn over Wealth.

While they argued about who to seat higher and whom to treat better, a poor old woman came out of the neighboring yurt. "Come to us," she said. "In our yurt, there are no special comforts, but you can rest peacefully from your journey here. You will find peace and understanding."

Hearing these words, all three entered the small yurt - the home of tranquility and agreement.
