According to the information provided by the agency, the detention of both suspects occurred within the framework of a criminal case initiated in December 2024 under Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, part 3, concerning "Abuse of Official Position." This crime was committed before amendments were made to the Criminal Code regarding the tightening of penalties for corruption and abuse of official position. Therefore, the court sentenced them under the old version of the Criminal Code, which allowed for a fine to be imposed in the event of a guilty plea and a procedural agreement with compensation for the damage caused to the state.
During the investigation, A. A. K. and other participants in the criminal case fully admitted their guilt and compensated for the material damage in the amount of 4 billion 307 million soms in favor of the state. The GKNB also emphasized that the confessions of the accused played an important role in uncovering a stable corruption scheme within the tax service, which involved employees of the Central Audit Department of the State Tax Service and other officials. This contributed not only to the fulfillment of the tax plan for 2025 but also to an increase in revenues by 40 billion soms above the planned level.
The investigation continues regarding the other individuals involved in the case. Results and measures taken will be reported later.
