The press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that the former chairman of the GNS, A.A.K., and his deputy, K.I.N., compensated for material damages amounting to 4 billion 307 million soms. These actions were the result of a criminal case initiated against them under Article 337, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, related to abuse of official powers, and took place on December 6, 2024.
According to the GKNB, the detention of these individuals occurred in connection with crimes committed before the amendment of criminal legislation, which tightened penalties for corruption and official crimes.
As a result, the accused were convicted under the version of the Criminal Code in effect at the time the crime was committed, which allowed them to reduce their punishment to a fine on the condition of admitting guilt and entering into a procedural agreement with compensation for damages to the state budget.
The investigation established that both individuals involved in the criminal case fully admitted their guilt and compensated 4 billion 307 million soms in favor of the state.
The collected confessions and conducted investigative activities helped uncover a persistent corruption scheme in the tax service, which involved employees of the Inspection Department of the Central Office of the GNS and the mentioned officials.
Furthermore, the activities carried out by the GKNB, including dismantling the corruption scheme, not only ensured the tax authority's compliance with the tax and insurance contribution collection plan for 2025 but also increased revenues by 40 billion soms compared to the plan.
The investigation into the case of other participants is ongoing.
It is worth reminding that earlier the former head of the GNS, Altynbek Abduvayev, and his deputy, Islambek Kydyrgichov, received a sentence from the Lenin District Court.
