The launch of the second unit of the Kambarata HPP-2 and the start of the reconstruction of the Uch-Kurgan HPP are planned.
The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan continues its work on projects aimed at increasing the reliability and efficiency of hydropower. In 2026, JSC 'Electric Stations' will undertake numerous large-scale works at several key facilities.
It is expected that the second hydro unit of the Kambarata HPP-2 will be put into operation in the spring. At the same time, the reconstruction of two units of the Uch-Kurgan HPP will begin: work on unit No. 2 will start in February, while work on unit No. 1 will commence on March 1. This will allow for the modernization of the station's equipment to be carried out simultaneously.
Construction and infrastructure works continue at the Kambarata HPP-1. Internal finishing is underway in the administrative and household complex, and engineering networks are being laid and internal partitions installed in the building of the dormitory under construction.
Additionally, the replacement of two autotransformers (AT-1 and AT-2) at the Kurp-Sai HPP's 220 kV switchyard has begun, which is expected to increase the station's capacity. The delivery of new equipment is scheduled for January and March 2026, with installation starting on April 1 and expected to be completed by autumn.
Furthermore, a new administrative building has been opened for the employees of JSC 'Electric Stations'. In 2026, phased repairs of the administrative premises of the company's branches are also planned.
All these works are coordinated by the Ministry of Energy and are aimed at the sustainable development of hydropower and strengthening the country's energy system.
