On Thursday, the National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring of Mongolia issued a warning about heavy snowfall and wind.

Starting Thursday evening, snowstorms are expected to sweep across the central and western regions of the country, with an anticipated average wind speed ranging from 18 to 24 meters per second, according to the meteorological agency's report.

Meteorologists urged residents of Ulaanbaatar and 21 aimags, including nomads, to be especially vigilant and prepared for possible natural disasters.

Mongolia is known for its harsh continental climate, characterized by long cold winters and short summers.

According to meteorologists, nearly 68% of Mongolia's territory is currently covered in snow.

Earlier this month, in the eastern aimag of Dornod, one person died as a result of severe blizzards and snowfall.
