In Uzbekistan, they plan to tighten penalties for early and consanguineous marriages

As part of this draft law, which has already been presented for public discussion, a ban is proposed on marital relations between first cousins, second cousins, and third cousins, as well as between uncles, aunts, and nieces/nephews. The only exceptions will be cases where there is no actual blood relation.

Additionally, it is proposed to increase fines for repeated marriages with minors to 100 BRV, which amounts to over 41 million sums. There are also plans to double the duration of community service for such offenses—from one year to two—which is expected to help combat early marriages in the country.
