In Kyrgyzstan, plans are being made to change electricity tariffs

The project has been submitted for public discussion

In Kyrgyzstan, plans are being made to amend electricity tariffs, as announced by representatives of the Cabinet.

Currently, the project is at the stage of public discussion.

As part of the proposals, it is planned to update the medium-term tariff policy for electricity for the years 2025-2030. In particular, it is planned to expand the use of differentiated tariffs depending on the time of day to reduce the load on the energy system during peak consumption hours, increase the efficiency of generating capacities, and ensure reliable electricity supply in conditions of resource scarcity.

Differentiated tariffs will apply not only to households but also to charging stations for electric vehicles, as well as industrial and commercial consumers.

For the population, it is proposed to clarify the procedure for calculating payment for electricity: consumption over 700 kilowatt-hours will be charged at the established tariff.

The coefficients used to calculate payments at different times of the day will also be adjusted:

- the coefficient of 0.5 will be replaced with 0.75;

- the coefficient of 1.5 will be replaced with 1.0.
