
A man has been detained in Kyrgyzstan who, under the guise of connections with the president and the head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), seized two cars.
According to the GKNB, it has been established that citizen S.U.E. is accused of fraud. He took possession of a 2022 Toyota Tundra worth $65,000 and a 2011 Mercedes-Benz A-Class valued at $15,000.
When the legal owner attempted to reclaim his cars, S.U. threatened him with physical harm and referred to his connections with high-ranking officials. Moreover, at meetings, he displayed family photos with the country's leadership, assuring that this confirmed his capabilities in resolving various issues.
In connection with these actions, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 209, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (fraud). The man was detained on December 27, 2025, in the city of Cholpon-Ata, located in the Issyk-Kul region, and placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.
