According to law enforcement, on January 19, operational information was received that certain individuals were planning to organize the illegal sale of firearms at the livestock market in Tokmok. This fact became the basis for registering a criminal case at the Tokmok police department under Article 267 (Illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Police officers conducted a controlled purchase during investigative and operational activities.
During a search of the apartment of one of the main suspects, S. Z., rifled weapons of caliber 5.6 mm, an IZH-17 shotgun of caliber 12, a barrel of a shotgun of caliber 16, more than 30 cartridges and casings of various calibers, as well as components for their reloading, 29 homemade knives, two registration number plates, religious books, and a dried plant substance, the type of which is currently being determined, were found and seized.
The detained individuals, S. Z., born in 1982, and T. K., born in 1994, were taken to the Tokmok police department, where they are being held in a temporary detention facility.
Judicial examinations have been appointed for the seized items, and investigative actions are ongoing.
