According to the agency, E.M.A., an operative of the internal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Talas region, managed to gain the trust of a foreign investor and unlawfully took his money.
In 2025, the investor approached the police officer with a proposal for a joint business related to the planting of expensive plants from the nightshade family. The cost of one kilogram of seeds was three thousand dollars, and the products were planned to be exported to Turkey. As a result, the entrepreneur handed over 35 thousand 500 dollars to the police officer, which were later embezzled.
In October 2025, the investor filed a complaint about fraud with the Ministry of Internal Affairs; however, an investigation involving him was not conducted. The investigative authorities decided to refuse to initiate a case, which, as emphasized by the GKNB, benefited the suspect.
On January 27, 2026, the citizen of Turkey again contacted the GKNB. The prosecutor's office seized the available materials and transferred them to the investigative authorities of the special services.
On February 24, E.M.A. was detained and placed in the temporary detention center of the Talas Department of Internal Affairs.
