Since March 9, the Sverdlovsk District Court in Bishkek has begun conducting online broadcasts of court hearings for the first time, including cases related to domestic violence. This was reported by the press service of the Supreme Court.

Present at the meeting were Aman Jumaliev, Deputy Head of the Supreme Court's Office, and Aibek Aydarov, Deputy Minister of Justice Aibek Aydarov.

The Supreme Court noted that changes to the Criminal Procedure Code concerning the concepts of "video conferencing" and "online broadcasting" have already come into effect. Now, defendants and other participants in the process have the right to familiarize themselves with the protocols of the hearings, including audio and video recordings, and can submit comments on them.

Furthermore, according to the new rules, participants in the process can request that hearings be conducted using video communication or live broadcasts via television, radio, and the Internet.

The court may allow real-time broadcasts of hearings on television, radio, and the Internet at the request of the participants in the case or on its own initiative. This is done to ensure transparency, the interests of justice, and the safety of all participants in the process.

In particular, paragraph 18 has been added to Article 46, which grants participants the right to request that court proceedings be conducted with online broadcasting. Additionally, paragraph 5 has been added to part 3 of Article 280, allowing for the broadcasting of hearings in the media or online in real-time format.

According to Article 290-1 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the court decides on the possibility of online broadcasting of a hearing based on the requests of the participants in the case or on its own initiative, taking into account the interests of justice, the principle of openness, and the safety of the participants in the process.
