
Kassym-Jomart Tokaev, the President of Kazakhstan, confirmed his support for Donald Trump's efforts to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. He made this statement to the Akorda press service after meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is in Astana on an official visit.
“In the current complex geopolitical situation, I support the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump and his plan to resolve the situation in Ukraine,” Tokaev noted. He also emphasized that Kazakhstan strives for a peaceful resolution of the contradictions between Armenia and Azerbaijan and is always open to participating in this process.
On November 21, Axios published "Trump's plan," consisting of 28 key points regarding the resolution of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Sources in the White House report that these points were proposed for discussion to both parties. According to the plan, Ukraine, among other things, renounces its aspiration to join NATO, reduces its armed forces to 600,000 personnel, and elections are to be held within one hundred days after the signing of the agreement. Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk will be recognized as territories of Russia. A comprehensive non-aggression agreement is also proposed between Russia, Ukraine, and Europe, with Ukraine receiving security guarantees.
Additionally, the plan includes measures for the reconstruction of Ukraine. It is expected that $100 billion of frozen Russian assets will be directed towards reconstruction, supported by the U.S. Europe will contribute another $100 billion for these purposes. The remaining frozen Russian assets will be used within a separate investment instrument that will implement joint projects across various sectors.
The document also mentions Russia's return to the G8, as well as the possible phased lifting of sanctions against the RF.
Moreover, sources report that all parties involved in the conflict will receive full amnesty for their actions and commit not to raise any claims or complaints in the future.
