Weekend food markets in Bishkek will help save on grocery purchases

Food markets organized throughout the republic, including in Bishkek, will operate until June 2026. Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan note that there is currently no shortage of essential food products in the country, and stocks are at a sufficient level. The main goal of these markets is to provide the population with fresh and quality products, as well as to support local producers.

Every weekend, on Saturdays and Sundays, markets are held in Bishkek where residents can purchase necessary goods directly from farmers. This is a joint project of the Ministry of Agriculture and the city administration, which allows for the elimination of intermediaries and, consequently, reduces prices for products. This approach helps to curb price increases and supports socially vulnerable groups of the population.

For buyers planning to shop for the week, two main venues are provided in the capital. In the Pervomaisky district, the market takes place at the Usubaliev Square, as well as at the intersection of Razzakov and Abdymomunov streets and on Erkindik Boulevard. Another popular shopping spot is located in the Vostok-5 microdistrict along the embankment.

The organizers of the markets impose strict requirements on participants, ensuring high quality of the products offered. All goods must meet sanitary standards, and each seller must have a document from the district agricultural administration confirming the quality of the products. Farmers are required to set prices below market rates. For additional information or to apply for participation, hotlines are available at 0312 66-14-22 and 0702 70 20 00.
