According to law enforcement agencies, one of the detainees had previously been subjected to administrative arrest for five days for violations in migration registration. During a conversation with the police officer, he offered a monetary reward for a "favorable resolution of the issue" after a fake passport was discovered.
The detained men, born in 1984 and 1988, M. T. A. and B. S. A., were caught in the office of the head of the 3rd Internal Affairs Department of the October District at the moment of the bribe transfer.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 345 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes that attempting to bribe a public official is a criminal offense that carries serious penalties under the law.
