A man set himself on fire at Almaty airport: Police closed the case

The investigation into the self-immolation case at the airport in Almaty has been completed, as reported by the press service of the Transport Police Department.
The case was conducted under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, concerning incitement to suicide.
“After being discharged from the medical facility, the citizen submitted a written statement indicating that he had no claims against anyone. As a result, the pre-trial investigation was terminated, as no elements of a crime were established. This decision was approved by the prosecutor,” the official information states.

During the investigation, a proposal was sent to the aviation security of Almaty airport, demanding the elimination of factors that contributed to the incident and other violations.

Recall that on August 25, a 33-year-old man set himself on fire in the airport terminal, near the ticket office. A criminal case was initiated, and one of the possible reasons for his actions was a conflict with his partner.
