In recent days, officials at various levels in Kyrgyzstan have been actively urging the population to save electricity. The National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan (NESC) has introduced temporary restrictions on electricity consumption during peak hours, reducing power from 5 to 3 kilowatts. The Cabinet of Ministers announced the implementation of measures aimed at increasing energy efficiency and the rational use of electricity. In particular, it was decided to optimize indoor and outdoor lighting, as well as electrical appliances in government institutions during nighttime from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

To assess how government structures responded to the authorities' call, 24.kg conducted an inspection this morning.

On Saturday, November 15, from 5:00 AM to 6:30 AM.
At the "Bishkek-2" railway station, all lighting was turned off, except for a few technical rooms, which was necessary to ensure safety during train movements.

The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision is also adhering to the directives on saving electricity.

On Erkindik Boulevard, there was complete darkness as the street lighting was turned off.

However, the central Ala-Too square remained brightly lit, as if it were daytime.

The historical museum did not follow the recommendations to turn off the lights during non-working hours.

The reasons why the lights remain on in the building of the Jogorku Kenesh at night remain unclear, especially considering that the deputies are not currently working.

In the new sports complex "Zhashtyk," the lights are partially on, but despite the early hour, equipment was actively being unloaded here.

Officials from the Ministry of Culture diligently turned off the lights throughout the building when leaving work.

Similar measures were taken by employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Supreme Court.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov previously stated that the water level in the Toktogul reservoir is 2 billion cubic meters lower than last year. To ensure the stability of the energy system, the state is forced to purchase electricity from abroad. He urged citizens to save, emphasizing that "every light bulb represents hundreds of liters of water in Toktogul and additional expenses for the budget."

Yesterday, the president expressed dissatisfaction with officials.

"Our main task is to turn off the lights after 6:00 PM in all government institutions, from the ayil okmotu to 'Yntymak-Ordo.' It doesn't take much effort to turn off electrical appliances and lighting after work. Moreover, lights are turned on in the corridors and even in offices during the day! This should be monitored. Energy saving starts with each of us!" urged Sadyr Japarov, noting that small and medium businesses should not suffer from this.
