“Dear compatriots! To protect yourself, your loved ones, and your property from fire, we strongly urge you to follow these recommendations:
Electrical devices and wiring
Avoid overloads: Do not plug multiple high-power appliances (such as heaters, irons, vacuum cleaners) into one outlet at the same time, as this can cause overheating of the wiring and short circuits.
Check the wiring: Urgently replace or repair old, cracked, or exposed wiring. Temporary measures (such as wrapping with tape) can be extremely dangerous.
Using household appliances
Do not place irons, electric heaters, and other heating devices near clothing, curtains, and other flammable items.
Turn off devices
Before leaving the house or going to bed, make sure that all electric heaters, irons, and unnecessary devices are unplugged.
Smoking
Do not smoke indoors: It is prohibited to smoke in residential buildings and apartments, especially while lying in bed.
Dispose of ash properly: Ensure that ash and cigarette butts are completely extinguished before throwing them into a non-flammable container (such as a metal ashtray). Do not throw them in trash bins or near flammable materials.
Heating and using stoves
Keep stoves and chimneys clean.
Place a metal sheet on the floor in front of the stove to ensure a safe distance from flammable materials (firewood, coal).
Do not overheat the stove
Do not leave gas stoves or water heaters unattended. If you smell gas, immediately open windows, avoid using electrical devices, and call 104.
Evacuation routes
Do not block corridors, stairs, and doors with items.
Evacuation plan
Prepare an evacuation plan in advance in case of fire and teach all family members about it.
If a fire occurs...
Call the service “101” directly, state your address, and report what is burning.
If the fire is small (for example, from an electrical appliance), try to extinguish it using a fire extinguisher or other means that do not contain water (a blanket, thick fabric). Never use water to extinguish electrical equipment!
Close the door to the room where the fire started to prevent the spread of smoke.
If you cannot extinguish the fire, immediately leave the building and go to a safe place.
