During the autumn-winter period, the Ministry of Transport is intensifying control over traffic in mountainous areas. Drivers are warned about the necessity of adhering to new rules at the transport checkpoints "Sosnovka" and "Kara-Kol".
According to the department, vehicle inspections are currently being conducted at these posts.
Vehicles that are not equipped with winter tires and anti-skid chains will not be allowed to pass.
The Ministry reminds that before heading to the passes, summer tires should be replaced with winter ones, and anti-ice chains should be carried. These measures are necessary to ensure safety on the roads.
Additionally, drivers are strongly advised to follow driving rules at the passes: do not enter the oncoming lane, do not obstruct the work of snow removal equipment, and maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
The road maintenance enterprises under the ministry are continuously monitoring the road conditions and are ready to respond promptly to changes in weather conditions and situations at the passes.
