In Russia, authorities plan to introduce measures of accountability for labor migrants who do not undergo mandatory medical examinations. This became known from a statement by the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin on his official channel.
According to the new rules, the deadline for foreign citizens arriving in the country for more than three months to undergo a medical examination will be reduced from 90 to 30 days. Doctors will be required to report examination results to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and in case of detecting infectious diseases — to Rospotrebnadzor. These measures are aimed at the swift deportation of violators.
Evading a medical examination will entail administrative responsibility, including fines and the possibility of expulsion from the country by court decision.
Additionally, forging medical documents of migrants will be classified as a criminal offense.
“These measures are aimed at strengthening control over migrants and enhancing public safety,” noted Vyacheslav Volodin.
