The decision on the preventive measure was made by the First May District Court
Five citizens detained after a group of scientists and politicians appealed to the president and the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh calling for early presidential elections have been sent to SIZO-1. The duration of their stay in the isolation facility is set until April 10, as reported by the First May District Court of Bishkek.
The detainees in the case related to the organization of mass riots are:
- A.K.S., born in 1966, [former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kursan Asanov];
- T.B., born in 1955, [coordinator of the "People's Parliament," previously headed the office of Prime Minister Bekbolot Talgarbekov];
- K.A.A., born in 1968, [former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Aaly Karashev];
- U.E.U., born in 1955, [former ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan Emilbek Uzakbaev];
- D.K.S., born in 1960, [former authorized representative of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Jogorku Kenesh Kurmanbek Dyikanbaev].
The investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has initiated a criminal case based on Article 41 part 2, Article 36, and Article 278 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the organization of mass riots.
Recall that the appeal became known on February 9 through social networks and media. The next day, on February 10, the president decided to dismiss the head of the State National Security Committee and his deputies, as well as initiated a partial reform of the State National Security Committee, separating the Border Service and the State Guard Service into independent structures.
On February 11, all 75 signatories of the appeal were interrogated, resulting in the detention of five of them, and searches were conducted at their addresses.
