The agency emphasizes that control over sanitary and epidemiological safety in the food service and trade sectors raises significant concerns, especially during the summer vacation and tourist season. This is linked to an increase in cases of acute intestinal infections and mass poisonings among the population.
The main causes of food poisoning include violations in the technology of food preparation, improper storage of perishable products, neglect of personal hygiene by workers, lack of medical supervision, and consumption of products contaminated with pathogenic microorganisms such as staphylococci, salmonella, and E. coli.
The key issue with seasonal establishments is that untrained staff are hired during the summer period. These establishments are usually located along major roads, markets, and beach areas, making it difficult to account for them when planning inspections.
As a result, the Ministry of Health notes, regulatory bodies cannot effectively organize inspections, leaving establishments without proper oversight.Furthermore, newly opened private medical centers, dental offices, and beauty salons often operate in unsuitable premises that do not meet sanitary standards, posing health risks to the population. Inadequate oversight and low accountability from entrepreneurs increase the threat to the life and health of citizens.
It is also proposed to establish a requirement that newly opened establishments, including seasonal ones engaged in the production, processing, and sale of food products, as well as those providing medical and cosmetic services involving parenteral interventions, must notify the authorized bodies about the commencement of their activities.
